Day One

Well that’s the first day done. Was in for 7.30am to ensure all was well before the day began.
After a brief momentary loss of memory (deputy head couldn’t remember the security code), the children all piled in many with smiles on their faces!
I made use of the sunshine in assembly to talk about spring and all the new life it brings before sending the children off to their classes to begin their learning.
I spent the rest of the morning answering my bank of e-mails, catching up on the post and then making final adjustments to my pupil progress trackers.
Lunchtime was lovely outside with the children. Behaviour was exemplary today. There was a range of activities and some even let me join in!
This afternoon involved a review of security following the break in a few weeks ago and then sorting out a flood in the year 3 boy’s toilets.
3.15 came and the start of a 2 1/2 hour meeting about pupils in year 3 and 4. Some new strategies discussed and individual support implemented.
It was Just gone 6 when I packed up and headed home to see my own children.
After dinner it will be more prep before tomorrow – then time to relax? Maybe!
